GRACELAND FRUIT CORPORATE GIVING GENERAL GUIDELINES AND PROCESS

Contribution requests may be accepted for the following types of organizations:

  • Public educational institutions
  • Tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations as recognized by the InternalRevenue Service
  • Unit of government
  • Under special circumstances, individuals seeking fundraiser support

Corporate funds are generally not available for:

  • Religious organizations (including organizations or events that promote religion)
  • Political organizations and lobbying groups
  • Athletic groups or activities, including charity-benefit sporting events and youthsport teams
  • Social organizations such as fraternities and sororities
  • Endowments or memorials
  • Individuals or individual needs
  • Organizations that discriminate based on race, religion or sexual orientation

Corporate contributions may only be used for charitable purposes.

  • Appropriate uses include:
    • Direct cash donation to a 501(c)(3) organization
    • Matching gifts to enhance contributions to a 501(c)(3) organization
    • Providing complimentary product to organizations meeting the above guidelines
    • Donating surplus or retired supplies or equipment to a 501(c)(3) organization
  • Inappropriate uses include:
    • General and/or ongoing operating support
    • Debt retirement
    • Capital campaigns/capital expenditures and endowment campaigns
    • Organizations whose budget is more than 30% allocated for overhead vs. direct programs

Process

  1. All requests are to be directed in writing to GFI Marketing (contact: Jordan Fekete, jfekete@gracelandfruit.com) and should include the following:
    • Name of the requesting organization
    • Contact information
    • Brief description of the purpose of the request and amount requested (cash or product) as well as ‘need-by’ date
    • Explanation as to how this request positively contributes to one or more of Graceland Fruit’s giving pillars: 1) health and wellness 2) education 3) community development* OR special circumstances that qualify this event for consideration
    • Impact tracking that could be provided upon request
  2. Marketing will complete an initial review for compliance with the GFI Corporate Giving Guidelines and areas of focus.
  3. If it is determined that the request meets GFI criteria, Marketing will seek final approval.
  4. Marketing will submit approved requests to Accounting for payment.
  5. Marketing will contact the organization to inform them of the decision to approve or decline the request and facilitate payment (cash or product).
  6. Marketing will follow up to ensure contributions are being used as intended.
  7. Requests will be reviewed monthly by the Marketing team, unless there is urgency or other extenuating circumstances associated with the request.

 

GRACELAND FRUIT CORPORATE SPONSORSHIP GUIDELINES AND PROCESS

Sponsorship requests may be accepted from the following types of organizations:

  • Clubs and community groups
  • Events; including races, festivals and food events
  • Ongoing community projects
  • Other (please specify on request form)

Process

  1. All requests are to be directed in writing to GFI Marketing (contact: Jordan Fekete, jfekete@gracelandfruit.com) and should include the following:
    • Name of the requesting organization
    • Contact information
    • Brief description of the purpose of the request and amount requested (cash or product) as well as ‘need-by’ date
    • Explanation as to how this request positively contributes to one or more of Graceland Fruit’s sponsorship pillars: 1) health and wellness 2) education 3) community development* OR special circumstances that qualify this event for consideration
    • Predicted ROI that Graceland will receive by sponsoring, including recognition OR other context that shows impact of the event
  2. Marketing will complete an initial review for compliance with the GFI Corporate Sponsorship Guidelines and areas of focus.
  3. If it is determined that the request meets GFI criteria and provides acceptable ROI, Marketing will seek final approval.
  4. Marketing will submit approved requests to Accounting for payment.
  5. Marketing will contact the organization to inform them of the decision to approve or decline the request and facilitate payment (cash or product).
  6. Marketing will follow up to ensure contributions are being used as intended.
  7. Requests will be reviewed monthly by the Marketing team, unless there is urgency or other extenuating circumstances associated with the request.

 

*Note: special consideration will be given to regions that house a Graceland Fruit facility.
