A household with kids is always on the go and it's all too easy to turn to junk food in a pinch! To ensure our girls are getting the best nutrition even during those crazy busy times, we make sure to keep our pantry stocked with a variety of easy to grab and run snacks.
Here’s out top 5 must have summer pantry stock up snacks:
- Graceland Dried Fruit
These goodies not only satiate that sweet craving, but they contain antioxidants. Antioxidants defend against free radical damage to cells and, in effect, may keep the body more vibrant.
- Pre-popped Popcorn
Lately, we’ve really been enjoying the Lesser Evil Buddha Bowl Foods popcorn. First, in case you didn’t know, popcorn is a whole grain meaning when eating it you get the natural fibers for digestive health. Next, with a brand using organic and quality ingredients I can confidently throw a couple of handfuls it each of the girls lidded reusable containers and be out the door with a healthy snack in minutes.
With a squeezable pouch GoGo Squeeze makes it easy to pack your applesauce! Yes to even more fruit servings in a day for our kiddos. Also, they offer a recycle/upcycle program for the used pouches. Check it out here https://www.gogosqueez.com/doing-good/our-terracycle-program/.
I’ve found that I have to find the right balance of health and taste so that my girls will actually eat the bar. I don’t want it to have a lot of added sugar or low quality ingredients but I do want it to taste good to them or else they won’t eat it, right?! A few kinds that meet these criteria are Lara Bars, Junkless, and Rx Bars.
- Crispy snacks made from legumes or pulses
What the what are legumes and pulses? Legumes include plants that grow in pods like beans, peas, and lentils. Pulses are specifically the only the dry edible seed in the pod. These plants tend to be high in protein and fiber which is great combination for recognizing fullness within the body. Harvest Snaps, Hippeas, and Saffron Road make some great products in this area. So stock up and have fun this summer!
