Graceland’s Convenience Ingredients: Long Live The Vegetables

Las Vegas – Two new lines of infused dried vegetables and extended-life refrigerated vegetables from Graceland Fruit, Inc., are set to revolutionize the vegetable ingredient market due to strong consumer appeal. Both new lines will be unveiled and available for tasting at the Graceland booth during the Institute of Food Technologists annual meeting and convention July 13-16 in Las Vegas.

“Vegetables have typically been excluded in refrigerated meal replacements due to a short life span,” Graceland President and CEO Don Nugent said.

In response to consumer demand for more balanced refrigerated meal replacements, Graceland developed Fridg-N-Fresh® - a new line of colorful and delectable vegetables that last up to three months in a refrigerated case. These ingredients offer convenience to the end consumer through numerous applications in the refrigerated home meal replacement and bakery markets.

“Our refrigerated vegetables can be used as a side dish, an ingredient in meat entrees, or as the main ingredient in vegetarian entrees,” said Graceland COO Steve Nugent. “Providing manufacturers quality ingredients and in turn, consumers with convenience, has never been more achievable.”

In addition, the new infused dried vegetable line from Graceland retains the qualities of fresh vegetables including flavor, color and texture. Vegetables are soft enough to put in trail mixes, or boiled, microwaved or baked as part of packaged convenience meals.

“Our soft, infused dried vegetables are far superior in color and cooking performance,” Don Nugent revealed.

The patented, all natural process starts with Grade A vegetables and delivers the healthy, low fat ingredients that today’s consumers demand. Infused dried vegetables add good nutrition, flavor and seasoning to a wide variety of consumer products, including bread mixes, dry soups, boxed dinner kits, stuffing, rice, pasta, bagels and more.

These two new vegetable lines are additions to other innovative product lines such as Soft-N-Frozen™, an ingredient that will remain soft and scoopable, even at 0? and infused dried fruits ranging from traditional apple, blueberry and raspberry to exotic fruits such as lemon and orange peel, mango and pineapple.

Graceland has been very successful in both domestic and export markets and has earned a wide range of awards over the years. Most recently, CEO Don Nugent accepted the prestigious Edward R. Madigan U.S. Agricultural Export Excellence Award for Graceland and was named Master Entrepreneur Of The Year by Ernst & Young.
